Community Education
by the Institute for Science and Health

One of the most effective ways to focus public attention on health issues in need of support is to educate the public about them. Informing people about how these issues affect us all is an important first step toward their prevention, and ultimately, eradication.

The Institute has conducted various conferences and presentations on numerous topics, to educate the community about specific health issues. Our goal is to make people aware of inter-relationships between seemingly disparate conditions (both causes and treatments) and to share ideas about promising directions for the future.

Through programs such as our Seminar Series, the Institute is providing communities with valuable health information, while building support for vital research . The seminar series serves several purposes. It brings important information on health-science research to the public. It raises awareness about the need for research and awareness about the role of the Institute. It also provides a background for interested philanthropists to participate in funding research through the Institute.

We try to present topics in relevant areas of medical science that are of general interest. The seminars touch on why the topic area is important, where current research work stands, and implications for future research directions that hold the most promise for success.
