Adrian Peterson Foundation at the Institute for Science and Health

Mission Statement:

The Adrian Peterson Foundation at the Institute for Science and Health is dedicated to impact the lives of today's youth by focusing on programming in the areas of education, speech and language disorders, and Christian values.

In 2008, Adrian and his wife Angela established the Adrian Peterson Foundation of the Institute for Science and Health. The foundation is dedicated to make a real and lasting difference in the lives of youth by through education and therapy for speech and language disorders while maintaining Christian values. As a "kick-off" celebration for the foundation, Adrian and Angela hosted a free football clinic. The free clinic provided youth the opportunity to work on their football skills, develop a keen sense of sportsmanship and teamwork skills, while building self-esteem both on and off the field.

Adrian 's athletic prowess was demonstrated early on as a two-time all-state, all-area selection and team MVP at Santa Fe High School in Alachua , Florida where he rushed for 4,949 yards. He earned honors from ESPN and Blue Chip Illustrated for his efforts. From 1998-2001, Peterson played for Georgia Southern University, one of the most successful NCAA Division I-AA football programs in the country. He finished his career with 6,559 rushing yards, a Division I football record, and won the Walter Payton Award in 1999. The Chicago Bears selected Peterson in the sixth round of the 2002 NFL Draft. He is a currently versatile running back and fine special teams player.
